Be Careful of Scams After Hurricane Ike

 With Hurricane Ike causing problems from Texas to Kentucky, there are plenty of ways for people here to fall victim to a scam.
 "You've probably seen the devastation in Texas and Louisiana from Hurricane Ike and some folks right here in Kentucky saw some damage to roofs and other areas," says Heather Clary, communications director for the Better Business Bureau of Central and Eastern Kentucky. "Your Better Business Bureau warns you to use caution with unknown home repair workers who may appear on the scene suddenly offering services."
 The Better Business Bureau offers these tips if your property needs repairs:
- Check out contractors with the BBB. 
- Be wary of unsolicited contractors using high pressure to hire now. 
- If they won't put a contract in writing, send them packing. 
- Beware if all payment is required up front.
