Missing Coroner Found Dead
Friday, 04 July 2008 14:53

The body of the missing Clark County Coroner has been found in Richmond. Police say the body of David Jacobs, 45, was discovered in the room of a Best Western hotel located on the Eastern Bypass near exit 87 in Richmond.

Police say Jacobs apparently took his own life using either one prescription drug or more. He had been missing since June 27th.

There is no indication of foul play. Jacobs was pronounced dead by the Madison County coroner's office at 1:10 Friday afternoon. Police had received a call that a body had been found inside one of the Best Western rooms.

Jacobs was reported missing on June 25th, shortly after his arrest for allegedly exposing himself at a Lexington park. The outcome of his death will not be determined until the state medical office performs toxicology to the cause of death.

Another case of someone that has a public servants or government job, does something bad such as he did like indecent exposure then takes the easy way out by eating a bunch of pills and going to sleep permanently.Instead of facing the music and having to go to court and being tried. Not very smart thing to do by any means

Ms.Brandenstein, as a mother myself, my heart goes out to you. I will add you and your family to my prayers. However in your statement you said it was "an accidental overdose".Your anger is to be understood, however the circumstances are very different. As the above article says the only thing pending is cause of death. Which is not an investigation. David is a friend of mine, and I will miss him. I hope people will now let him have his peace.

This article has made me have a lot of questions about my own son's accidental overdose on Oct 28th, 2006. This man David Jacobs is the person who pronounced him dead. The sheriff, who at the time of my son's death was the detective, later elected sheriff....I am angry that this overdose will be investigated...whereas my son's was not. How can this happen. Now this man's name is on my son's death certificate...ironically for same kind of death. I feel anger, shock , frustration. The sheriff had told me a Drug Task Force would be started when he got into office....what has happened to that. I feel our family should have had answers, especially now.
