Horses Die in Stable Fire
Thursday, 20 November 2008 18:19
An early-morning barn fire kills 27 horses in Henderson.

The cause of the fire is unknown. Among the victims was Kept Lady, a horse that won a race at Churchill Downs on Sunday. Five horses initially survived  the fire, but had to be euthanized later. It's the second deadly fire this year at Riverside Downs, a former track that is now a stable and exercise center for horses. The state fire marshal is investigating what caused the fire.
