Homes were threatened in Woodford County when three barns caught fire Tuesday afternoon.
The fires began just after five, in the Gleneagles subdivision off U.S. 60. As of 11 p.m. Tuesday, the fires were out, with a few hot spots remaining.
Two of the fires started in tobacco barns, which contained farm equipment and hay. No animals were hurt in the fire. Because the barns were very close to homes, the homes were sprayed down as a precaution. But the homes were not affected by the fire, and no people were hurt.
The cause of the fire is now under investigation. There's some suspicion, because one of the three barns is 300 yards from the other two.
