Bus stops in Lexington may never be the same as plans for the first art shelter are reveled.
Art in Motion, a local non-profit group, has been working to transform the city bus shelters into works of art for the past several years.
The first will be on Versailles Road.
Out of 18 design entries, the chosen one is from a UK architect student who incorporated Ale-8-One bottles into his design.
LexTran officials say this art shelter is already getting the attention of the mass transit industry and it hopes to transform other shelters in the future.
Aside from green from the Ale-8-One bottles, the project is green because it incorporates a solar-powered LED lighting system.
