I'm not quite sure if it's because my husband and I are both from large families and that in addition to grandparents our boys have been exposed to dozens of aunts, uncles, and cousins, but for some reason they really don't know any strangers. They usually will happily go to anyone with a smiling face and outstretched arms. They have little or no "stranger anxiety". But one thing's for sure they still want to be wherever mom and dad are. We've reached the stage where their favorite game is follow the leader.
In this case they tried their best to follow me to the mailbox but stopped just short of the front porch. (That's unchartered territory so far for them)
It's a bit inconvenient but quite a delight to know someone...in my case two someones...are hanging on your every move. You can literally see the excitement in their eyes as they wonder..."Where's mommy going now?"
So wherever our path leads, the kitchen, the closet the bathroom we hear the pitter patter of little hands and feet crawling quickly behind us. If one of my boys is loose on the floor I try to avoid carrying the other out of fear his brother will get caught up in my feet and cause a spill! Now if only I could get them both to line up in a row like you see ducklings following mama ducks!
