Two people are injured, following an overnight fire in east Lexington.
The fire broke out around 1am on Ashton Drive, off Winchester Road. Firefighters say the fire started in a shed toward the back of the homes, causing three separate structure fires at once.
Firefighters say people were still in one of the homes when they arrived. Firefighters had to wake the people up and get them out of the house.
Fourteen summers ago Trent DiGiuro was murdered as he sat on his porch with friends. Tuesday, his family was awarded $63.3 million dollars by a jury in Fayette Circuit Court.
Tuesday Trent DiGiuro's family took their final step in the legal process with hopes a jury would send a message to this community and allow the DiGiuros to get a sense of justice they felt they were denied in two previous criminal trials. Before the jury made their decision they heard James "Chip" Adams II tell them about a conversation he had with Shane Ragland in October 1991 about Trent DiGiuro. Adams told the court, "He said he was going to kill him and he used the word kill. I will never forget the look on that guy's face when he said that…for whatever reason, but it hit me right between the eyes."

Former Knox County Judge-Executive Raymond C. Smith has been sentenced to 2 1/2 years in prison after pleading guilty to mail fraud.
Smith, 45, of Corbin, was sentenced Tuesday at the federal courthouse in London. He pleaded guilty in March.
U.S. District Judge Gregory Van Tatenhove also ordered Smith to pay $110,000 in restitution for his part in a scheme to award construction contracts to firms controlled by his family while Smith was judge-executive from 2002 to 2006.
